At Aeris, we excel in advanced atmospheric physics modelling to provide cutting-edge solutions. Our US sister company’s flagship model, JOULES, demonstrates our commitment to excellence.
To meet the demand for accurate high-resolution wind flow and dispersion predictions, we developed JOULES. Our goal was to create a comprehensive model for real-time, building-aware forecasts. Our challenge included handling diverse scenarios such as indoor and outdoor environments, varied terrains, land use patterns, sea breezes and stadiums. Our primary objective was to empower clients with reliable data for atmospheric hazard modelling and wind turbine power generation.
Through extensive research and development, we built JOULES from scratch. Leveraging advanced physics and state-of-the-art technologies, JOULES provides highly detailed predictions at a remarkable 2-metre resolution. What sets JOULES apart is its GPU-enabled capability for real-time modelling in critical scenarios.
To validate JOULES, we conducted rigorous testing using real-world trials and detailed flow experiments. This meticulous validation process ensures dependable results and fosters trust among our clients.
With JOULES, our clients gain a powerful advantage in risk assessment and strategic planning. Its dynamic, building-aware predictions empower decision-makers, fostering resilience across industries.
Expanding on JOULES, we are developing the Next Generation of atmospheric hazard models. We're focusing on improving the resolution and physical features included in the models. This will provide a next-generation capability for microscope weather modelling and forecasting.
We're working on applying these new capabilities to aviation applications, hyperlocal urban weather focusing, and support and use in the renewable energy sector.
Aeris have developed a Small Aircraft Traffic Management System to transform urban air mobility. Our unique approach ensures safe and efficient planning for unmanned and advanced air vehicles.
As pioneers in technical research, Aeris developed an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) capability to revolutionise route planning and scheduling for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) vehicles. Our goal was to ensure the safe and efficient operation of small aircraft in dynamic urban environments, despite rapidly changing weather and operational conditions.
We developed an innovative solution to demonstrate the feasibility of using high-resolution microscale weather data for optimal route and traffic avoidance algorithms. Leveraging advanced “building-aware” weather models and cutting-edge search algorithms based on Graph theory, we created a robust operational system that seamlessly integrated real-time weather prediction and precise flight guidance.
Aeris’s Small Aircraft Traffic Management System brings numerous benefits to the aviation landscape. By incorporating fast-running urban atmospheric models and advanced machine learning and AI technologies, we empower UAM and AAM vehicles with unprecedented capabilities. Our system enables optimal route planning and scheduling, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations in complex urban scenarios. As a NASA small business innovative research (SBIR) demonstration, our patent-pending technology stands as a testament to its ground-breaking nature.
Our journey continues as we extend the capabilities of our Traffic Management System to Uncrewed Aircraft Traffic Management, enhancing its versatility. We remain dedicated to fostering safe, efficient, and environmentally-friendly aerial operations. The future holds exciting possibilities as we explore and develop novel technologies for Wildland Fire Response.
We know that our clients have unique needs. Send us a message, and we will get back to you soon.
